Services – Home Care Services/Caregiver Placement

Elder Options has two decades of experience in helping families find the perfect caregiver. We are the experts in knowing the caregiver industry and pride ourselves with matching and screening the caregiver that will meet your needs. Our clients can pick and choose which caregiver duties they need.

Caregiver Screening:

No matter which program a client chooses, all caregiver applicants go through a 16 point screening process which includes: a health and criminal background check, random drug screen, and work reference check. Applicants are skill tested and are certified before they start work. Our screening requirements exceed Washington State guidelines. Elder Options offers two primary caregiver placement programs, helping families find dependable help.

Option #2: Privately Hiring a Caregiver

Elder Options can help seniors locate and privately hire caregivers though our caregiving certification school. Some families choose to hire a neighbor or family member. Our RN instructor can help train candidates, to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Care Aide (HCA) through our certification classes. Other options are setting up a caregiver management system in the home to identify job functions, and responsibilities. Hiring privately allows the best economy, with the most freedom, as long as a system is in place to manage the hired caregiver. Savings of over 30% can be seen by hiring privately. Seniors can select and hire their favorite care provider, chose their own schedule, and can interview and select replacement caregivers. Duties Caregiver responsibilities include all of the tasks described above, but can also include non traditional caregiver duties such as, transportation, pet care, gardening and light home care services that are negotiated between the client and the caregiver. Duties should be within their license. (For instance a caregiver should not change wound dressings, use power equipment, pay bills, etc.)
